Policy.
What we collect, why we collect it, and who touches it. The short version: we collect what a regulated store needs to sell and transfer product, and this site runs no third-party ad trackers.
1 · Who we are
This policy describes how Blackbird R&D (“Blackbird,” “we,” “us”) handles information collected through this website. By using the site you agree to this policy.
2 · What we collect
Account information. If you create an account: your name, email address, and a password (stored by our commerce platform; we never see or store your password in plain text).
Order information. When you buy: your contact details, billing and shipping address, phone number, and the items ordered. Payment card details are collected and processed by our commerce platform and its payment processor, card numbers never touch our servers.
NFA transfer information. Suppressor transfers are completed by a federally licensed dealer (FFL/SOT). Information required for the ATF process (for example, Form 4 application details) is collected and maintained by the transferring dealer under federal law, not stored on this website.
Contact form. Name, email, phone, subject, your message, and, if you attach one, a photo (for example, for support on an installation question).
Newsletter. Your email address, if you subscribe.
Automatically. Standard server logs (IP address, request time, pages requested) kept by our hosting provider for security and reliability. This build of the site does not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
3 · How we use it
To operate the store and your account; to process, fulfill, and support orders (including the NFA transfer process); to respond to inquiries; to send the newsletter you asked for; to prevent fraud and abuse; and to meet legal and regulatory obligations that apply to firearm-related commerce.
4 · Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Our commerce platform (BigCommerce): accounts, cart, checkout, orders, and newsletter lists.
- The transferring dealer (FFL/SOT): order details needed to complete a lawful NFA transfer, including our fulfillment partner or the dealer you designate.
- Service providers: email delivery for contact-form messages, and website hosting. They process data for us, not for their own marketing.
- Authorities: where required by law, subpoena, or the regulations governing NFA commerce.
5 · Cookies & local storage
This site uses a small, functional set, no advertising cookies:
- Authentication cookie: keeps you signed in to your account.
- Cart: remembers what you have added.
- Age confirmation: stored in your browser so the 21+ notice does not reappear on every visit. It never leaves your device.
- Offer dismissal: remembers that you closed a promotional message. It never leaves your device.
6 · Retention
Account and order records are kept while your account is active and as long as required for tax, warranty, and regulatory purposes. Contact-form messages are kept as long as needed to resolve the inquiry. You may request deletion of data we are not legally required to keep.
7 · Security
Traffic to this site is encrypted in transit. Access to order systems is restricted, and payment card processing is handled by our commerce platform’s PCI-compliant processor. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you as the law requires.
8 · Your choices & rights
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link in any email. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, including rights provided by your state’s privacy law, through the contact form on this site. We will verify the request and respond within the time the law requires. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.
9 · Age
This site is intended for adults 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21, and account and purchase eligibility require it.
10 · Changes
We may update this policy; the effective date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
